Visiting the Naramata Bench with one or more young children in tow? It’s still possible to enjoy a wine tasting experience!
The majority of Naramata Bench wineries describe themselves as child friendly, meaning that you are allowed to bring children with you to a tasting.
This post highlights the Naramata Bench wineries that are most welcoming to children. Think open lawn space, toys, and other other kid-friendly features that make visiting more enjoyable for everyone.
Just a quick disclaimer: I don’t have children myself. That said, I’m a Penticton local and have visited every single winery on the Naramata Bench at least once – many of them three or four times – so my insights in this post come from extensive first-hand experience.
Let’s get into it!

Origin Wines
Origin Wines is my top recommendation for anyone looking for a child friendly winery on the Naramata Bench. This family owned and operated winery has beautiful views of Okanagan Lake, with a large lawn area.
There are umbrellas for shade, toys and games to play with and lots of different seating options. With such a relaxed vibe, Origin is an ideal destination for wine tourers with children.

Dog friendly: Yes, note winery dogs
Tasting fee: $6, waived with wine purchase

D’Angelo Winery
I love recommending D’Angelo Winery to Naramata Bench visitors, especially families. It’s very close to Penticton, just off the KVR Trail, has lovely lake views, a gorgeous lawn picnic area and an Italian food truck. The owners have children themselves and offer toys and games to play with. There is a bocce court as well.
D’Angelo is one of the very few Naramata Bench wineries that still offers free tastings. If you have members of your group who prefer beer to wine, combine a trip to D’Angelo with a stop at nearby Abandoned Rail Brewing. It’s very kid friendly, with a large garden and yet more toys and games.
Address: 979 Lochore Road, V2A 8V1
Dog friendly: Yes
Tasting fee: Free
Food: Food truck, picnics allowed

Deep Roots Winery
Deep Roots Winery is one of my all time favourite Naramata Bench wineries and I’m happy to report that it’s a great option for families too. There is a large lawn picnic area where you can enjoy your own food or purchase from the BBQ/charcuterie food truck (Thursday to Sundays only).
The owners, the Hardman family, have children of their own and have provided some toys and games. The lake and vineyard views are impressive and the whole vibe pretty relaxed overall.
Address: 884 Tillar Road, V0H 1N1
Dog friendly: Yes, note winery dogs
Tasting fee: $10, non-refundable
Food: Food truck (Thurs to Sun), picnics allowed

Chain Reaction Winery
Chain Reaction Winery is fairly new to the Naramata Bench but has made a good impression so far. Located close to the KVR Trail, the tasting room has some of the best views of Okanagan Lake in this section of the Bench.
While the outdoor tasting area at Chain Reaction is paved, I recommend this winery to families as the owners are very welcoming to children. They offer bubble makers to play with as well as chalk to draw on the sidewalk. Freezies may be available as well. There is an on-site Neapolitan-style pizzeria, a good option for families.
Address: 980 Naramata Road, V2A 8V1
Dog friendly: Yes
Tasting fee: $10, refunded with bottle purchase
Food: Pizza

Three Sisters Winery
Three Sisters Winery is conveniently close to Penticton and is usually open until 6pm, so a great option when on a time crunch or on the way back into the city. The bright and airy tasting room has a colouring table for children, with provided supplies.
If you want to hang out for a while, the paved picnic patio is welcoming to kids. Popsicles and soft drinks are available for purchase. Adults can enjoy wine by the bottle. The vineyard views, with a hint of the lake beyond, are really pretty.
Address: 1250 Munson Ave, V2A 8S5
Dog friendly: Yes, on patio only
Tasting fee: $6 to $50, nonrefundable
Food: Picnic patio

Township 7 Winery
Township 7 Winery is just around the corner from Three Sisters, making the two the perfect combination. The standout feature of Township 7 is the huge lawn area and adjacent patio. There are many seating options, all with umbrellas for shade.
Guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy alongside a tasting flight or glass of wine. Although I haven’t seen it myself, I’ve been told that families have been provided with some toys to enjoy, including a soccer ball.
Address: 1450 McMillan Avenue, V2A 8T4
Dog friendly: Yes, note possible loose chickens
Tasting fee: $15-30, waived with purchase
Food: Picnics allowed

Elephant Island Winery
A Naramata Bench icon, Elephant Island Winery is also one of the most unique. They produce fruit and grape wines, as well as cider under the Naramata Cider Co. brand.
The vibe at Elephant Island is very playful and fun, perfect for families! Tastings are most often held in a shady courtyard area, which features a colouring/play table with toys. Picnics are encouraged, with supplies available for purchase.

Dog friendly: Yes
Tasting fee: $10-$20, non-refundable
Food: Picnics allowed – they sell supplies

Lake Breeze Vineyards
Lake Breeze’s Mediterranean-inspired complex offers a little taste of Italy on the Naramata Bench. It offers something extra special for families too – a two acre farmstead with chickens, pigs, an orchard and lawn games. It’s a beautiful (and fun) place for families to be on a sunny day!
Wine tastings are held at a separate bar area in the courtyard. At the other end is the Patio Restaurant, which is open for lunch throughout the summer season.
Address: 930 Sammet Road, V01 1N1

Tasting fee: $10, nonrefundable
