Unfussy and fun, Origin has a simple philosophy – ‘to help you find a wine you love.’ And there’s plenty to love here, from the high quality wines to the spectacular Okanagan Lake panoramas from the expansive lawn patio.
While still a relative newcomer to the Naramata Bench (the tasting room opened in 2017), the owner’s families have been farming the Okanagan Valley for generations.

As hinted in the name, Origin’s winemakers concentrate on grape location and quality. Currently, grapes are sourced from their own vineyards on the Naramata Bench and Kaleden, the latter of which is perfect for cooler climate grapes.
Origin has a small but solid wine portfolio, with exceptionally well priced Meritage and Pinot Noir vintages. The Rosé is also a favourite and it usually sells out fast.

Tastings and Wine Shop
Good things come in small packages! Origin may have one of the most intimate tasting rooms on the Naramata Bench but the experience is wonderfully relaxed and welcoming.
The true magic of this winery, though, is the expansive outdoor space. Perched on a cliff above Naramata Road, Origin offers some of the best views on the entire Naramata Bench. Okanagan Lake takes center stage, with the vineyards below providing a beautiful foreground.
A huge lawn extends west from the tasting room, offering plenty of space for outdoor tasting and post-tasting picnics.
Origin’s wine tastings cost $4 per person and typically feature four wines. The fee is waived with wine purchase. Allow 15-20 minutes for a wine tasting at Origin.
Reservations are recommended and can be made online. Walk-ins are still welcomed if space allows.

Restaurant
Origin has partnered with Tony’s Meats (Penticton) to offer tasty picnic charcuterie boxes. These are perfect for a light snack or a casual lunch with a view. Tastings are not included but on be added on for an additional $6 per person.
There are three different sizes of picnic box available. The smallest will feed up to three people (depending on how hungry you are!) and includes one bottle of wine.
The mid sized option has two bottles of wine and is suitable for up to six people. The largest box also includes two bottles but can be enjoyed by up to ten people.
With each picnic box being handcrafted, 48 hours notice is required. Reservations can be made via Origin’s website.
Winery guests are also welcome to bring their own picnic supplies. Wine can be purchased by the bottle to enjoy on the lawn.
